Chiku

In Swahili, Chiku is a girl's name which means 'one who chatters' – and when it comes to children in Africa, she's certainly got plenty to say. She’s here to explain how the knowledge about health, hygiene, nutrition and caring for children that we take for granted in the UK isn't nearly so widespread in some parts of Africa. But by educating parents and providing chickens like Chiku, Send a Cow is helping to change this.

Chiku lives on a farm in Rwanda. When she’s not laying eggs, or chatting with her friends, Chiku likes to watch the farmer’s children playing. She's happy that her and her friends are helping to give them lots of energy.
