Loads of kids
Goats are not only tough, adaptable animals, but prolific breeders too. By giving this gift of two local does - which can each produce one or two kids a year - a family in Africa will not only have a good source of milk, meat and manure, but will soon have goats they can pass on or sell. The goats are kept in spacious shelters so they don't eat the countryside and this also makes it easy for their manure to be collected for compost.
