Build a Water Store

Help farmers to store and use every drop of precious rain that falls.

Many women and children have to walk, on average, four miles every day to fetch water, often getting up before dawn. Weighing as much as 20kg or 44lbs, it’s a heavy weight to bear. Building water storage pits near the family will stop this daily journey and ensure that water is easily accessible for the home, livestock and crops all year round. Although this water will still need to be boiled before consumption the process is so much quicker than collecting it first.
